In order to support the objective of our banking client and promote innovation initiatives within the institution, Imagemaker supported as a jury and sponsor the second Scotiabank Hackathon in which 10 teams from the commercial and digital banking area participated in December.
The main theme of this initiative was to bring the bank's processes closer to people in order to make its purpose of improving the well-being of its customers more and more specific and being the best digital bank in Chile. Thus, innovative business ideas were presented to meet this expectation, which was evaluated on the pillars of quality of the presentation, innovation of the idea, the strategic approach, among other criteria.
In addition, the activity included Lean Canvas and Elevator Pitch workshops that helped the participants to generate a connection between the problem and a specific segment where they tried to solve the need with the customer at the center. Also as an incentive, monetary prizes were awarded for the first places, a hacker's kit that included a shirt, snacks, and stickers for everyone and a raffle for an Xbox, a Samsung S20 cell phone, and an iPad Mini.
In this regard, Rodrigo Ruiz, CTO of Imagemaker, who participated as the only jury outside the bank, highlighted: “It is gratifying to see that despite the fact that the people who participated are not necessarily dedicated to serving the public, all the ideas were thought and oriented for customers. This is a reflection that their purpose is not just a phrase, but that their clients are really at the center of their operations and there is a legitimate desire to innovate to improve their lives. "
Sebastián Fuenzalida, Digital Innovation Leader at Scotiabank, referred to Imagemaker's involvement: “The work we did together in the production was fundamental. The collaboration was super positive, and having his gaze on the jury was a very good complement. His help with the creative concept behind the hackathon image also inspired us to call this bank's innovation strategy that. "
Also, regarding his experience, Ruiz added: "This instance opened a door for us to get closer to the business objectives, meet more people, learn about their ideas and strengthen relationships."
This is how Imagemaker, through supporting its clients in activities complementary to the service it offers every day, adds concrete value and empowers being a strategic partner for that client.
