In October 2023, Imagemaker faced the challenge of digitizing crucial procedures for both the public and private websites of a major Chilean AFP, which had mostly been conducted in person. However, it wasn’t just about implementing changes but significantly enhancing the user experience in the new digital environment.
With a Maker culture as a fundamental pillar, Imagemaker formed a multidisciplinary team that embraced a collaborative approach and innovative technologies to develop robust solutions. The results were impressive, with a reduction in processing time, improvement in team speed and synchronization, and successful adaptation to a multivendor and multicultural environment. This success story highlights the added value that Imagemaker brings to its clients’ digital transformation efforts.
Solution:
To address this challenge, we formed a multidisciplinary team where the Maker culture was fundamental for cultural adjustment and project success. Our team included UX/UI designers, front-end and back-end developers, a technical leader, automation QA, and a Product Owner/Scrum Master. We adopted a collaborative approach, fostering direct communication between the team and the client through regular meetings. This, combined with innovative technologies like Node.js, React.js, and microfrontends hosted on the Azure cloud, allowed us to develop robust solutions, optimizing site performance and reducing operational costs. We implemented a design strategy focused on reusable components, which streamlined development and ensured consistency in the user experience. We involved the QA team from the project’s early stages, enabling proactive problem identification and resolution, thus reducing rework. Additionally, we organized joint meetings between the design and development teams to align visions and minimize rework. We adopted a scaled working methodology that enabled us to quickly adapt to changes in project requirements.
Results:
- Reduction of processing time from 5 to 2 days per procedure.
- Improvement in team speed and synchronization.
- Decrease in rework in procedures.
- Successful adaptation of the strategy to a multivendor and multicultural team.
The Maker culture was a key factor in the project’s success, fostering a collaborative and diverse environment that drove innovation and excellence in work. Our agile methodology and user-centered approach enabled us to overcome challenges effectively, thus highlighting the added value we bring as the Imagemaker team.
